Busy September

The inner strengths of humans cant be underestimated. Just when i pondered how would i survive through this busy september with the desperate need of juggling between school and work, i managed to live my way (not exactly the way i wanted, but who cares) and declared that i'm still in one piece.

During the amazing race, i was caught in a pleasant surprise as they had something under their sleeves - a birthday celebration for the recent august babies. It has been quite some time since i last stood on the stage facing a sea of audience, and it kind of reminds me of the good old days when i performed on the stage with my fellow choir and guitar members. through this, i made more friends who had the same birthday as me, and guess what? i'm one of the eldest among them, as some are still freshies in the polytechnic (imagine the generation gap =p). The best part of this celebration is the mouth-watering banana and tiramisu cakes. oh my, they are really heaven, one of the best cakes that i have ever eaten! the rest of the august babies can testified that haha. lucky chee keong also had a bite in it, but too bad it was grabbed before he could went for a second helping heehee.

So at Swissotel Merchant Court, I get to try the variety of food that are nearby and made new friends while working. A diverse group of people, with Shatec, SAF, graduated students and current ntu students. Though it was just a short 1.5 weeks, i did gain something out of this volunteering experience =) The opportunity of going to the esplanade and watching the outdoor performances made me feel proud to be a true Singaporean breed. Everyone is working so hard to make this event a success and it all ended so beautifully with the magical fireworks and the all so hype up merlion haha.

Of coz i aint an iron lady, so the negative result is that i have to miss some classes - both voluntary and involuntary. this makes me wonder how people can work and take up night classes at the same time. its really tiring to reach back hall at 12 midnight plus and then wakie at 9 plus for morning lessons, not including spending some time to do some catching up too. so i began to dread hall, that jungle land which is so noisy even in the reading room where people are playing volleyball in the badminton court. so i have decided to stay home throughout the recess to gain some peace and comfort heehee.

Meanwhile, there's whole pile of work to be done which leaves me unmotivated as i have no idea where to begin. time to dig out my hardworking brain cells (if there is any to begin with) and get moving before everything is too late. so what's up for me in october? attending recruitment events, madness rush for projects and presentation, kissing my textbooks and the best of the best -- my FYP
