Hunting Down Blue Roses

Tomorrow is a B!G day for Suhui... Yes its her convocation... eh, nope. Its her commencement. Talk about arguing the difference between KFC and Kentucky Fried Chicken haha!

Anyway, I realised that buying flowers, or rather to be exact, buying blue roses aint easy. Went to my house's market to check out the shop that's supposed to sell flowers but they do not have any roses. Decided to explore the market further and saw a florist... happily went in to tell the boss that I wana a dozen of blue roses and came her reply: "Must order in advance."

Ah??!!! Today isnt V-day leh, how come must order in advance de???!!

Coz must dye the roses. The roses need some time to absorb the blue dye. Earliest you can collect is tomorrow afternoon.

Pengz -_-""' I need it tomorrow morning leh.

So i msg Lijun and since she was already at Suntec, she went to check out the florists around that area and Carrefour. Came a shocking news that 5 blue roses were on sale for 70 bucks! That's day light robbery man! Carrefour didnt had any blue roses so the only place that I know of is the florist shop in Yishun.

However, being a stubborn Leo and Virgo means that I just had to find a florist that sells blue roses in AMK! So I explored another nearby market but the ones they had were fake flowers, in all sorts of varieties haha. Oh on the way I saw an ah ma drying the utensils with a towel. She took the utensils with her bare hands and placed them on a towel to dry - like what I had did back in Cambodia, only to get scolded in Khmer by a sister. Scary! Coz the sister 'pi li pa la' in Khmer thought what had happened. Turned out that I did it the wrong way, sorry oh! If this incident didnt happen in Cambodia, I wouldn't have paid much attention to this ah ma.

Tried my luck near Jubilee area and finally found one florist that sells pretty blue roses! 3 cheers to my stubborness haha! Not only are they pretty, the auntie that attended to me is very patient and polite too. They even gave me a purple plastic bag to put the bouquet in, which I was expecting an 'or biang' bag keke.

Both blue roses and purple bag are pretty right? heh. Suhui loves blue! And the desktop picture is one of my favorite pic taken in Taiwan with Suhui and gang.

She is making me so excited for her commencement haha! From shopping for cosmetics with her, to going to help her wear her commencement gown... felt so much like her wedding day haha! =p I dont know why but i'm not at all excited for my convocation. In fact, I can even forgo my convocation and join my OVE (Overseas Voluntary Expedition) gang for a trip to The Philippines. However, I guess I had my fair share of fun so I havta guai guai attend the convocation.

A surprise postcard from Kaka! Kaka msg me while I was heading to Malaysia to get my address, saying that he might send me a postcard. Thought he was kidding so didnt want to expect anything from him but ta da! A pleasant surprise haha! He said that he dont like Tibet so much coz its already very commercialised. Sigh I hope I will be able to travel to Tibet soon before it become way too commercialised! Anyway, heard from Rayray that you're sick so pls take care and get well soon! See you for Ben & Jerry's when back! =D
